These fingers are from two vegan straightedge animal rights activists for everyone on my instigram feed commenting in favour of drug testing for welfare recipients and saying things about how that system needs to be harder to access for folks who need it.Fuuuuuucccckkkkkk yoouuuuuuu. How about drug tests for bankers who get subsidies from the public purse? Or racism/sexism/classism assessment for cops paid to patrol the streets with our “tax money”.. Or or maybe instead of paying for drone strikes on pakastani people we could invest in helping people. Oh no, but let’s further vilify the poor and ignore all the factors that might cause a person to use drugs, like chronic pain, trauma, addicts in their family, no access to health care, no access to counselling etc. etc. ETC. Yeah.. It’s those sneaky poor people we need to worry about! They’re the real bad guys here. Eat shit “welfare reformists.”(Cross-posted from Instagram, where there was an awful lot of talk about “welfare reform” among some otherwise radical and compassionate folks.)
